Real mountain food should be able to stay in the rucksack for several days, it should be easy to carry and not take up too much space in the pack. Each meal must also be full of energy so that you can recover and have the strength to hike another day.
All recipes in this book are adapted for mountain hiking. The focus is on how to make your own dishes from scratch, either by drying certain ingredients yourself or by finding smart products in the store that can be included in the recipes. You will also learn the importance of planning meals, preparing as much as possible at home and packing food in the best way. The recipes are divided by how long they take to cook, from dishes that only require you to pour on boiling water to dishes you cook in half an hour. At the end of the book there are chapters on energy cakes, good desserts and how you can easily bake on the mountain. The author Eric Tornblad has been mountain hiking since his teens, more recently with increasingly lighter packs and an increasing emphasis on good food. Eric has also written the books Torka mat and Eldmat.
