The TSN-99 Prominar is a further development of the popular TSN-880 series and is Kowa's first binoculars with both a convex XD lens and a pure fluorite crystal lens.
It features Kowa's largest lens ever produced, measuring a whopping 99mm. The binoculars thus deliver a very impressive image even in low light. Thanks to the lavish lenses, the image is free of chromatic aberration. The binoculars have a completely new design with flexible ergonomics combined with advanced technology and are easy to use for long periods even under tough conditions. The body is made of a 100% magnesium alloy and is one of the most compact and light in its class of large bright binoculars (1810 grams without eyepieces and 2235 grams with) Like previous models, the TSN-99 has Kowa's fast focus (double focus) which enables fast focus with a few smooth turns, while fine focus provides fingertip control offering superb focusing accuracy with small adjustments possible even when wearing gloves. The optical construction consists of Kowa's unique pure fluorite crystal lenses that provide astonishing image quality with perfect color reproduction, contrast and sharpness and with a minimum of chromatic aberration even at high magnification. The objective lens has additional protection from the elements with Kowa's KR coating that repels dirt, moisture and dust from building up on the surface. The tube is fully compatible with the entire Kowa accessory range. All zoom and wide-angle eyepieces that fit the Kowa 880 and 770 also fit this tube.
