With a 95 millimeter objective lens and a 3x zoom integrated into the tube body with an extremely large field of view, the Victory Harpia 95 amazes the viewer.
In the entire register from 23 times up to a maximum of 70 times magnification, a perceived field of view of 72 degrees is obtained, basically like binoculars! Zooming is done with a ring behind the larger focusing ring, so you never have to move your hand between the eyepiece and focus to zoom in and out. The focusing is also "progressive" (Dual-Speed) so that you can easily find exactly the right sharpness in the close range of the object even at the highest magnification, and if you take the wheel with a little more torque, you make fast movements to the close range or infinity. The eyepiece is a bit narrower than the large diameters we've become accustomed to from some competitors' eyepieces in recent years and therefore falls naturally into most normal eye sockets, it doesn't feel like you're resting your whole head on the eyepiece. The eye cup can be infinitely rotated between screwed down glasses position and fully unscrewed. The tube has a relatively straight cone shape with a conspicuously small and flexible prism housing at the rear and a locking mechanism for the eyepiece's bayonet mount. For the time being, only one eyepiece is offered, which is common to both this and the slightly smaller sibling model with an 85 mm lens. The tube housing is made of magnesium and coated with a sober black rubber reinforcement with a retractable light shield. The tube is nitrogen-filled and waterproof down to a depth of 4 meters. The glass quality is of course Zeiss' own Schott FL (fluorite) with LotuTech water- and dirt-repellent surface coating on the outermost lenses. A protective case is offered as a separate accessory as is the eyepiece which is purchased separately at the link below.
