In this richly illustrated book, many animals and plants well-known to Öland are presented, but even more relatively unknown acquaintances, which often deserve the same attention.
Although Öland only makes up three per thousand of Sweden's land area, our smallest landscape contains an impressive biological diversity. As much as a third of the country's red-listed organisms are recorded on the island and among these there are also some species, or subspecies, which are completely unique to Öland or to the southern Baltic Sea area. In the book, we get to see what happens in Öland's nature during the changes of the seasons. The island's many unique environments are presented, as well as a number of businesses that are completely dependent on Öland's rich natural treasure for their existence (such as the Naturbokhandeln!). Many island connoisseurs and photographers have contributed to the rich content of this beautiful book, both in terms of images and text. Let Öland's nature - unknown and infamous species - become a source of inspiration to discover and experience another Öland.
