Focus Observer in its bright 42mm version is a model for those who don't want to spend more than a couple of thousand on a pair of binoculars, but may have been disappointed with what is usually found for a few hundred at gas stations or department stores.
With its straight and open roof edge construction, it is both light and flexible to handle and grip and is relatively lightweight for its size. The close range is not quite on par with some more expensive competitors and neither is the field of view, but still perfectly acceptable. The coating (anti-reflective treatment) of multi-layer type (FMC) is good class for its price. The diopter adjustment is traditionally done via a ring on the right eyepiece and the eyecups are of a softly rounded type with an intermediate position and offer a full field of view even for those who wear glasses. Focusing is reasonably smooth and easy to work with due to a large wheel. With 10 times magnification, you get more "power" but at the same time more shaking in the image and a narrower field of view. Supplied with bag, neoprene strap and eyepiece and lens protection.
