The Leica Ultravid 50 HD-Plus is a bright series of hand binoculars for the discerning user, for example hunters who sit on passes or rangers who need to get the most out of the binoculars in all conceivable situations.
For having 50 mm lens apertures, the series is still relatively compact and fairly lightweight. The slightly longer shape offers excellent balance and good ergonomics. With fluorite-containing glass in HD quality (HD = High Definition) and AquaDura coating on the outer lenses that repels dirt and water, as well as the new revised coating for even better light transmission and the best possible color reproduction. The large, Leica-patented DualDrive focusing is grease-free to give the same pleasant feeling regardless of the working temperature, and also takes care of the dioptre adjustment (± 4 diopters). The binocular housing in fully cast magnesium with sober rubber reinforcement is filled with nitrogen gas for full tightness down to a depth of 5 meters. The eyecups are softly rounded with four intermediate positions and offer a full field of vision even with glasses in the down position, and can be completely disassembled for easier cleaning. The Leica Ultravid 12x50 HD-Plus is an extreme reconnaissance binocular for those who want to obtain the highest resolution possible with handheld binoculars without stabilization aids. The weight and good balance still provide surprisingly good image stability. A tripod mount can be purchased as an accessory. Comes with rubber eyepiece and lens protectors, neoprene strap with conventional lock and a cordura case without its own strap.
