Kamakura in Japan is the world's largest manufacturer of binoculars. With the new EMC series, there is now a Kamakura also in the lower price range under SEK 3,000.
Low weight and comfortable rubberized grip are the main characteristics of this most compact and all-round entry-level model. The eyecups are of the modern twist type and offer a full field of vision even with glasses in their bottom position, but lack intermediate positions. The focusing is normally switched and runs smoothly and nicely, and the dioptre adjustment is done conventionally on the right eyepiece with fairly large resistance so as not to be involuntarily shaken. On paper it may seem quite similar to the Kowa 8x32 SV, but there are differences that are only noticeable when the binoculars are brought to the eyes. The coating (lens treatment) has different recipes and one can expect a slightly higher light transmission at Kamakura EMC. All the binoculars in the EMC series are nitrogen filled and thus completely sealed. Comes with a soft polyester bag, half-wide neoprene strap and rubber eyepiece cover.
