The Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 Carbon is a powerful carbon fiber tripod that fits body heights around 170-185 centimeters without reaching for the center column.
Manfrotto released a completely new generation of tripods in 2014. The tripods in the 055 series are new in every detail. They are 50 percent stiffer than before and have a completely new type of leg lock that is both stronger, has a higher load weight and is easier to handle. You open and close them with a more ergonomic double grip than before. What is also new is that all stands have an angled center column. In normal position, it is as usual submerged in the spindle, but with a lower center of gravity than before and thus no "neck" sticking up above. With the press of a finger, the center pillar can then be angled out 90 degrees to the side, completely stepless. The same finesse allows you to hang the center column upside down in the spindle. These functions are possibly unnecessary for the average tube user, but with today's "multi-tasking" birders who both photograph and tube watch, there is nothing wrong with multi-functions. The top of the center pillar has been redesigned with an integrated spirit level (level) and can also be turned 360 degrees completely steplessly. Now there is only one locking screw to attach the heads to the base, instead of the previous three. The legs can be angled out in spade 90 degrees with a couple of click positions in between and two of the legs have "hand warmers" also in the carbon fiber version. The paws have been given a new slightly angular design and are also screwed into the pipe ends.
