Om fåglar i Sverigen - deras liv och leverne presents our most common bird species in text and images.
We meet 113 species that we can meet in our gardens and parks or in our immediate surroundings, whether it is rural or not. You may find some during a boat trip in the archipelago. Others you meet in the forest. The vast majority of the species are found in southern Sweden, but some are also common at the top of Norrland. In addition, we get to know a small number of charismatic birds, which are rare in our country but deserve our attention because they are beautiful, peculiar or have an interesting history. Lars-Åke Janzon describes where the birds are found, how they live and what characteristics they have in terms of behaviour, habitat or presence in folklore. We get to learn about the heron's solitary life, the swift's hunting strategy and how the blackbird warms its feet in winter. All species are illustrated with beautiful watercolors by Staffan Ullström. The book is an abridged and revised version of the masterpiece Om fåglar i Sverige (2015).
