There has long been a need for a guidebook in a handy format that can easily be taken with you on a visit to the island.
In the new guidebook about the island that the Hallands Väderös Natur Society has produced, suggestions are given for several different hikes on the island, which are illustrated on maps and with texts that describe what you will encounter along the paths. If you are curious about old trees that have lived on the island for several hundred years, there are maps of the largest and oldest trees marked out, as well as coordinates for those who want to look for them with a GPS. Fact-packed texts are available on geology, plants, animals and birds as well as the history of the settlement and the people who lived and worked on the island. The book is richly illustrated with, among other things, pictures of birds, animals and plants that can help the visitor to identify the species they come across.
