The BD II XD is the successor to the dark green BD XD series that arrived in 2014.
Now with newly designed, slightly more elongated housing in magnesium alloy coated with a light green rubber reinforcement. The focus wheel is plastic but looks like metal. The eyecups have intermediate positions for full adjustment regardless of whether you wear glasses (screwed down cups) or not (screwed up cups). Kowa uses a proprietary optical glass with a high content of fluorite crystal that they call XD. It provides high light transmission and good color reproduction with a minimum of chromatic aberration (color bleeding). The outer lenses are treated with a hydrophobic coating (KR) which facilitates use in wet weather and cleaning. The BDII 10x32 XD WA Prominar is a compact binocular with slightly higher magnification and an exit pupil best suited for daylight. That means it's a good one for mountain hikers and others who want to get a little closer but don't have access to binoculars. With the exciting close range of just 1.3 meters, it is also perfectly suited for butterfly and dragonfly watchers. Supplied with bag, wide comfort strap in neoprene, eyepiece and lens cover.
