If you're looking for a bright tube but don't want to go up to Kowa's top models, which cost significantly more, then the TSN-82SV may be right for you.
Japanese Kowa has been manufacturing high-quality binoculars since 1952 and since the mid-1960s they are well known for this worldwide. What they all have in common is that they maintain an uncompromisingly high quality and now have ECO glass that does not contain lead or other environmentally harmful substances. With the new polycarbonate housings in the standard tubes, they have also aimed for a high degree of recycling. They are filled with nitrogen gas and thus completely dust-, water- and condensation-proof. The focusing is easily accessible and ergonomically positioned. Despite the lack of fluorite-containing glass, even Kowa's standard tubes deliver impressive image quality. TSN-82SV succeeded in 2010 the then 14-year-old predecessors in the TSN-820 series. In the upgrade, the entire tube became recyclable and the old eyepieces that only fit the 820 series were removed. It is a bright tube with an 82 mm objective which, however, lacks fluorite-containing glass and thus produces some chromatic aberration (color drop). Especially when shooting through the tube, this becomes noticeable, otherwise it is not a problem. Several eyepieces can be used, see next to this. Retractable anti-light and rain protection is available and the tube can be equipped with filters and of course also an emergency bag. Built-in objective ring allows tilting of the tube in different observation angles.
