The M500 bat detector/microphone has the same fine recording quality as the very popular D500X.
It can be used both directed (horn for increased directional sensitivity) and more widely, depending on your needs and local disturbances such as e.g. noise in leaves. It works with most operating systems and is then recognized as a standard audio/recording device. Operating system and software used must support recording with 384 kHz sampling rate. It is compatible with Android, Linux (Ubuntu), OS X, iOS and Windows. Double check that the operating system is correct and that the recording capacity is available. Some cheaper tablets lack 384kHz recording.
