With the MM4 77 ED, English Opticron breaks new ground in what has previously been a segment for pure travel tubes in the small format, ever since the first "Mighty Midget" was released.
MM4 77 ED/45 can be said to replace both HR 66 ED and HR 80 ED and still deliver a better image due to new lens technology. At the same time, it is still a compact binocular. The tube has a fully rubberized housing in polycarbonate and aluminum that is equipped with double focusing wheels for coarse and fine adjustment. At the front there is a pull-out rain and glare cover. The tiltable tubular foot is large and contains threaded holes in both 1/4'' and 3/8'', which provides extra good anchoring on, for example, the large sled-shaped quick plates in Manfrotto's, Gitzo's and Sirui's main ranges. Of course, the tube is filled with nitrogen gas for full resistance to both water, condensation and dust. A large accessory program also provides several opportunities to photograph through the tube and a waterproof case can offer extra protection. All of Opticron's eyepiece series are compatible with the tube, i.e. eyepieces both in the SDL V2, HDF and HR series, but the most common recommendation is the zoom eyepiece in and SDL series.
